Summary of Experience

Prior to HR Law’s inception in 2006, Jill was the head of one of Queensland’s largest independent law firm’s employment law division for in excess of seven years.  Jill has extensive experience and knowledge in all areas of workplace law.  Jill has acted for numerous large and small employer clients at State, Federal and international levels.

Jill has been recognised for a number of years as an industry leading (Employer Representative) lawyer by Doyle’s Guide.

Victoria is experienced in all aspects of employment and workplace relations law. As both a lawyer and human resources specialist, Victoria’s legal skills and knowledge combined with her practical corporate management experience gives Victoria a highly developed understanding of the multifaceted operations and legal risks businesses face in the management of their workplace law obligations.   Victoria works with clients to provide practical legal and management outcomes for their business.

Victoria is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia and regularly assists clients across State and Federal jurisdictions.  Victoria is also a member of the Australian HR Institute. Victoria’s extensive experience includes employment contracts and policies, performance management and disciplinary procedures, modern award interpretation, wage assessments and underpayment claims, enterprise agreements, unfair dismissal and general protection claims and general employment advice.

Kristin has almost 20 years of exclusive employment and industrial relations law experience.  She predominately acts for medium to large sized businesses in the health, not for profit, engineering, retail, and professional services sectors.

Kristin has been recognised as a leader in the field of employment and industrial relations law through her inclusion over many years in the Best Lawyers List and Doyle’s Guide.

Johan has advocacy and litigation experience before the Fair Work Commission, Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, Federal Courts and Human Rights Commissions, including unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination, bullying, sexual harassment, adverse action, contractual, award, enterprise agreement, underpayment of wages prosecutions and workplace investigation matters. This includes preparing submissions and evidence, providing advocacy, briefing counsel, appearing at conciliation and conference processes and arbitrations, and developing litigation strategies that align legal risk with commercial and workplace realities.

Johan is a seasoned negotiator with extensive experience in enterprise agreement bargaining and industrial relations, including advising on bargaining strategy, acting as an employer bargaining representative, drafting and reviewing agreement terms, managing access period and approval requirements, assessing BOOT risks, responding to employee and union claims, and supporting Fair Work Commission approval processes.

Johan is skilled in handling industrial disputes and has experience in union engagement, including right of entry, protected and unprotected industrial action, consultation disputes, award and enterprise agreement disputes, union correspondence, employee representative engagement, and tribunal escalation where required.

Johan also provides practical training across industrial relations management and psychosocial workplace risk, with a focus on helping employers manage legal obligations, workplace issues and people-related risk in a practical and commercially informed way.

Johan’s approach is informed by hands-on experience in human resources and industrial relations management, including employee relations, disciplinary and performance processes, grievances, restructures, consultation, workplace change, policy implementation, and compliance with awards, enterprise agreements and legislation.

Prini was admitted in October 2023 as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland, following the completion of her Bachelor of Laws at Griffith University, as well as her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at Queensland University of Technology.

Prini has gained a broad experience in various working environments during her university studies including state and federal government and boutique and large law firms. Prini is currently focused on honing her legal skills by focusing on workplace investigations and gaining knowledge into the industrial relations sector.

In her spare time, Prini volunteers as the Vice President of Pasifika Lawyers Association of Queensland and as a Youth Coordinator for her local church.

Georgia works with the HR Law team whilst completing her studies in a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of International Relations at Bond University on the Gold Coast.

Georgia had gained an array of practical experience through her hands-on university degree that prioritises learning legal skills such as negotiation, mediation, client interview strategies, legal research and oral advocacy.

Georgia has also volunteered at the Public Law Clinic at Bond University, where she worked on researching and drafting legal infographics for clients.

Since joining the HR Law team in February 2025, Georgia has further improved her legal skills, particularly her document preparation, legal research, evidence extraction, drafting of investigative reports and creation of case briefs for our newsletter. Georgia is excited and ambitious to learn more at HR Law and further her career.

Abbie works with HR Law’s experienced team as a paralegal whilst studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) full-time at the Queensland University of Technology.  Abbie is dedicated and detail-oriented, with a strong foundation in legal research, document preparation and client communication. Abbie is passionate about developing her skills, gaining experience and pursuing her legal career.

Summary of Experience

Annebelle works with HR Law’s experienced team as a paralegal while studying a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) / Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the Queensland University of Technology.  Since joining the HR Law team in 2024, Annebelle has been developing her skills in legal research, document preparation, evidence extraction and report writing as well as assisting with enterprise agreement preparation while pursuing her legal career.
